The Brief

As the market leader in ice crystal drinks, Slush Puppie have a long-standing reputation, a brand that is renown for being youthful and fun, appealing to young children and the young-at-heart who hold nostalgic sentiment towards their products. myclever's ongoing relationship with Slush Puppie involves finding ways to engage and reward loyal fans, while continuously widening the reach of the Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Approach

As a fun way to engage the fans of Slush Puppie's social media channels, we designed an app that was easy to use and entertaining. A pairs game was given the Slush Puppie treatment; a colourful and bright skin and logo. The items to be paired, branded articles of clothing, doubled as potential prizes for winners, along with vouchers and retro sweets. To play, users were asked for their name and email address. This gave Slush Puppie a larger database of potential customers.

The Results

Of 5,560 entries, 3,707 opted in to the newsletter. In total the app was viewed almost 94,000 times and played over 18,000 times. This demonstrates that the game was played multiple times, on average over 3 times per entrant. As intended, the Facebook page saw a growth of 168% (from 3,143 likes to 8,426) while nearly 40,000 Twitter users were exposed to the Brand during the campaign.
